The city of Brainerd was found to be Minnesota's "poorest town " reports an article in MSN's 24/7 Wall St. section.
"In every state, there was at least one town with a median annual household income thousands of dollars lower than the state’s median income." states the article posted on June 10.
The information accompanying the slide for Brainerd includes: "Brainerd, Minnesota - Town median household income: $29,364".
In describing their methods to determine each states poorest town, the article authors report, "To identify the poorest town in each state, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed median household incomes for every town with populations of 25,000 or less in each state from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS)."
