The city of Brainerd reminds residents dogs over 4 months old and any chickens within city limits must be licensed upon acquisition and each January thereafter.

The city of Brainerd reminds residents dogs over 4 months old and any chickens within city limits must be licensed upon acquisition and each January thereafter.

Licenses can be obtained at the city administrator's office in city hall from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cost is $15 for spayed or neutered dogs, $20 for dogs not spayed or neutered and $40 for chickens.

There is a limit of four animals (dogs, cats and chickens) per household within Brainerd city limits. No animal should be permitted to run free within city limits.
