A 45-year-old Brainerd woman with a history of domestic violence, faces domestic assault charges following an incident earlier this month.
Kally Jo Robinson was charged Aug. 2 in Crow Wing County District Court with two felonies of domestic assault including strangulation.
The charges follow a report of a physical domestic assault at 11:30 p.m. July 31 at a residence on Alpine Road in Brainerd. According to the complaint filed in court, Robinson is accused of choking a man at the residence. A witness told deputies Robinson and the victim were drinking and arguing. Robinson was on probation and was not supposed to be drinking.

The victim told deputies he did not wish to report anything and did not want to be listed as a victim. Another witness said he saw Robinson hitting the victim in the face and neck area.
The deputy arrested Robinson and obtained a preliminary breath test that showed her blood alcohol content of .189. The deputy asked Robinson if she would like to give a statement, and she stated, "No, because I didn't do anything wrong," the complaint stated.
According to court records, Robinson has two prior qualified domestic violence related offense convictions within the past 10 years. Also, on July 26, Robinson pleaded guilty to felony domestic assault involving the same victim. Her sentencing in that case is pending.
Robinson is being held at the Crow Wing County Jail and is next scheduled to appear in court Monday, Aug. 16.
