BREEZY POINT — The Breezy Point Police Department mailed a mask violation citation to an individual following an incident Sept. 14 where the individual was not wearing a mask at Pelican Square in Breezy Point.
According to the police report, two individuals were observed at 10:50 a.m. in the convenience store without any face coverings. Police advised them to wear something and one of the individuals used profanity, refused to comply and stated, “It is not a law.” The officer advised the individual a citation would be mailed.
Breezy Point Police Chief Kevin Merschman said this is the first mask violation citation the department has issued. Merschman had no further comments on the incident.
