ROYALTON-An 83-year-old man was killed Tuesday when the Honda Pilot he was driving was struck by a semitrailer pulling a trailer on Highway 10 in Royalton.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported Robert J. Kysar of Plymouth was exiting the Tesoro gas station in Royalton to head north on Highway 10, when his SUV was struck broadside by a semitrailer heading south. Kysar died at the scene, the state patrol reported.
Gayle M. Steinmetz, 96, unknown address, who was Kysar's passenger, was transported to CentraCare Health in St. Cloud for non-life-threatening injuries.
The semitrailer driver, Lewis Ray Olson, 71, was not injured.
The Morrison County Sheriff's Office assisted with the fatality, which was reported at 4:07 p.m.

The state patrol reported all occupants were wearing their seat belts and neither of the airbags were deployed.
