The Morrison County Sheriff's Office issued a safety reminder for hunters and other gun users after a bullet struck a tractor.
The sheriff's office used its Facebook page to make the plea, sharing photos of a window in a tractor cab broken by a bullet from a muzzleloader.
"We wanted to remind everyone how dangerous it can be when you are not accountable for the rounds that you put down range," the sheriff's office stated. "Always be cognizant of your target and what lies beyond it."
In this particular case, the tractor was parked at a farm located off 130th Avenue in Swan River Township. No one was injured, although the sheriff's office said a serious injury or death might have occurred if circumstances were different.
An investigation is pending.
