Business electronics collection event slated for Sept. 17

The Crow Wing County Land Services Department will hold a business electronics collection event 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. Wednesday at the county landfill site. This is an opportunity for businesses to dispose of any old electronics.

The Crow Wing County Land Services Department will hold a business electronics collection event 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. Wednesday at the county landfill site. This is an opportunity for businesses to dispose of any old electronics.

The cost to dispose of business electronics is 35 cents per pound.

Acceptable items include the following equipment: CPUs, CD-/DVD-ROMs, monitors, memory, networking, printers, scanners, tape drives, circuit boards, integrated circuits, precious metal scrap, wire, cable, motor generators, duplication/copying, banking, barcode, communication, hospital/medical, telephone and test/lab. Loose batteries will not be accepted at the event.

During the event, the landfill attendant will direct businesses to the collection site. Equipment to be disposed will be unloaded and weighed, and businesses will be provided with a bill of lading for records. Local businesses that plan to participate in this event are encouraged to contact the solid waste office at 824-1290 so paperwork can be completed ahead of time.

Arrow Global Asset Disposition, Inc. (formerly known as Asset Recovery) will verify the equipment and invoice your company within two weeks of the drop-off, so no payment is required during the event. The company is NAID certified to destroy all data.
