The Brainerd Fire Department had a busy weekend, responding to seven calls.
On Saturday, Feb. 2, firefighters responded to three calls, beginning at 3:05 a.m. to Arrowwood Lodge and Conference Center, 6967 Lake Forest Road, for a fire alarm. Firefighters determined the fire alarm went off due to a broken sprinkler line. Firefighters received a water flow alarm call at 12:21 p.m. to United Products, 1006 Wright St. It was determined to be a broken pipe. At 12:58 p.m. firefighters were called to Sprucewood Townhomes, 14303 Grand Oaks Drive, Baxter, for a carbon monoxide alarm. Upon investigation, it was determined a small amount of carbon monoxide was detected in an apartment. The gas company was requested at the scene.
Firefighters were called four times Sunday, starting at 1:26 p.m. to Home Depot, 7207 Foley Road, for a report of a gas smell. Firefighters determined the call to be unfounded, but provided standby assistance for the gas company to further investigate. Firefighters were also called at 5:10 p.m. to a residence on the 100 block of F Street for a carbon monoxide alarm. Upon
investigation, it determined to be unfounded.
Firefighters were called at 5:13 p.m. to a garage fire on the 17000 block of Town Line Road, Brainerd. Upon arrival, the fire was fully involved. The fire department reported the cause of the fire appears to be associated with a wood stove in the garage that was 20 feet by 24 feet in size. Estimated loss is $25,000. Firefighters cleared the scene at 8:45 p.m.

At 7:22 p.m. firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Thiesse Road and Crow Wing County Highway 45. Firefighters were canceled en route. According to the Brainerd Police Department, an officer responded and helped pull a smoldering mattress from under the car. The car was not on fire.
