The Cancer Center at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center invites all Cancer Survivors and a guest to celebrate their journey. Join other survivors and Cancer Center staff from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 2 in the River Room Café at Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center, 523 N. Third Street in Brainerd. Each Survivor will be honored with a gift, enjoy appetizers and fellowship with other survivors and their families.
A brief program includes a welcome, prayer, survivor story from Cindy Bourassa of Breezy Point, Cancer Center update from Oncologist Dr. Laura Joque, as well as information about the Survivorship Training and Rehabilitation (STAR) Program specifically providing support to cancer survivors.
The Cancer Center is among the Commission on Cancer accredited programs across the United States. Specific areas that set the Cancer Center at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center apart include:
• A multi-disciplinary Cancer Committee that meets weekly to review and discuss patient cases to ensure the optimum course of treatment is recommended.
• The opportunity to participate in clinical trials offering patients access to cutting-edge treatments, medications and medical devices.

• A comprehensive medical staff providing services that care for patients and their families clinically, spiritually and emotionally including imaging and image-aided biopsies, rehabilitation and physical therapy, endoscopy, spiritual support, grief support, social services, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and a cancer nurse navigator.
