CARVER - A Carver County Sheriff’s deputy was seriously injured in a head-on crash while on duty late Thursday.
Erick Boder was patrolling the city of Carver, an outer suburb southwest of Minneapolis, when a car crossed over the center line and hit Boder’s patrol car at about 9:15 p.m.
The other car’s driver, Jason Horowitz, 46, of Carver, was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in downtown Minneapolis by ambulance with unknown injuries. Boder was airlifted to the hospital after being cut from his patrol car with a Jaws of Life tool. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
The condition of both men were unavailable as of Friday afternoon.
