BACKUS-The Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 2:38 p.m. Monday at a residence on East Horseshoe Drive Northwest in rural Backus.
Information from the caller indicated the suspect was still at the residence. Deputies arrived and learned the suspect fled the area in a vehicle. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle or suspect. Additional burglaries were discovered in the area. Authorities have identified a possible suspect and the incident remains under investigation.
