WALKER-Cass County government offices will close at 3 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, remaining closed for the Christmas and New Year's holidays on Dec. 25 and on Jan. 1.
Employees who leave at 3 p.m. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve will use vacation time or compensatory time or take the time off without pay for the 1.5 hours less than normal office hours.
Cass County Board will move the first meeting in January to 9 a.m. Jan. 2, because the first Tuesday of the month is New Year's Day. That meeting is held at the courthouse in Walker.
The second meeting of the month will be at 9 a.m. Jan. 15 at the land department building in Backus. That regular meeting will be followed by a joint meeting with the planning commission to discuss future changes to the county zoning regulations.
The public is welcome to attend all county board and planning commission meetings.
