CASS LAKE-The man killed in a house fire this past weekend in Cass Lake was identified.
Found dead was Hubert Braman, 79, of Cass Lake, Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch stated in a news release.
Burch stated the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office determined the cause of death to be carbon monoxide poisoning due to smoke inhalation.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office was called at 11:14 p.m. Friday for a house fire in the area of Second Street in Cass Lake. Officers and members of the Cass Lake Fire Department responded, extinguishing the fire and discovering the body of a man inside the home.
The fire is currently under investigation with the assistance of the Minnesota Fire Marshal's Office. The Leech Lake Ambulance and Leech Lake Tribal Police assisted at the scene.
