The area public is invited to a business luncheon with Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) Commissioner Charlie Zelle and his staff from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 27. The event will be in the Audubon Room at Cragun's Legacy Golf Courses, 11000 Craguns Drive.

Transportation funding is among Minnesota's top legislative priorities this year and it is critically important to local business and tourism. Gov. Mark Dayton has proposed an aggressive 10-year, $11 billion funding package that includes a wholesale tax on gasoline. The Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce has aligned with the Minnesota Chamber's position to support such a comprehensive package that draws upon the general fund, budget surplus and other efficiencies.

The cost is $7 per person and covers lunch. To register, call 822-7107 or visit the event page on the Brainerd Lakes Chamber website at www.chamberbrainerdlakes.com .
