Central Lakes College’s next Cultural Thursdays program set Dec. 3 will be hosted as a free Zoom webinar on the Japanese culture.
Jason Edens, environmental studies instructor at CLC, will present "Beyond the Silk Curtain: How Japan Almost Became My Home" from noon to 1 p.m. People may pre-register for this event, by entering their name and email address at tinyurl.com/y695vkf2 .
Edens spent four years living in rural Japan as an employee of the Ministry of Education. Charged with developing English curriculum for public rural high schools, he had the opportunity to visit countless communities around Japan and peer behind the silk curtain. Based in Fukushima Japan, Edens nearly made Japan his permanent home.
