Rebekah Kent was recently named interim dean of career and technical programs at Staples campus at Central Lakes College.
In the position, she will supervise all career and technical programs at the CLC Staples campus and transportation and manufacturing programs at Brainerd campus.
She'll develop and implement new academic programs meeting the needs of the community and work collaboratively with other CLC deans to coordinate the development and implementation of academic programs, student support services, facilities and physical environments conducive to teaching and learning.
Kent replaces current dean of career and technical programs and Staples campus Chris Hadfield, who is remaining within Minnesota State Colleges and Universities as the new director of the transportation Center of Excellence.
Kent also serves as the director of strategic grant initiatives at CLC. She manages a $13.1 million Department of Labor TAACCCT grant called the Advanced Manufacturing Education Alliance. Kent lives in Brainerd with her husband and three children.
