Central Lakes College police science professor Steve Wenzel of Little Falls attended a roundtable panel discussion on national and international issues with Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, in Minneapolis Monday, Nov. 15.
Wenzel was invited to participate in the panel discussion by former Minnesota U.S. Sens. Norm Coleman and Rudy Boschwitz. Issues covered included the national economy and the problems of inflation; illegal immigration and the open borders policies of the Biden Administration; the implications of the U.S. exit from Afghanistan; the rise of China and nuclear deterrence; and the specifics and costs of the multi-trillion dollar social infrastructure legislation before the Congress.
Rubio was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010 and was reelected in 2016, after service in the Florida House of Representatives. He ran for the Republican nomination for president in 2016, and carried Minnesota in its Republican precinct caucuses for the nomination.
