Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities honors Senator Ruud with Environment Award
Sen. Carrie Ruud, R-Breezy Point, was honored with the Legislator of Distinction-Environment Award from the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities. Ruud played a pivotal role in finding a solution to unlock critical Public Facilities Authority funding that had been in limbo despite being included in the 2018 bonding bill.
“CGMC recognizes the effort we are making at the Capitol to ensure our resources are protected and that Greater Minnesota is not left behind as important steps are taken to advance environmental reform,” Ruud said in a news release.
Over the last two years, Ruud has initiated LCCMR reform, advocated for access to PFA funds, and passed legislation encouraging independent peer review of water-quality regulations.
“I am proud to represent so many Greater Minnesota cities and I am thankful for the support from CGMC,” Ruud said. “Their partnership has been crucial for the progress we have made on many important issues at the Capitol.”
