BAXTER -- College Road at Cypress Drive will be closed once again to through traffic beginning at 6 a.m. Friday, July 19, to finish construction of the street.
Construction workers on College Drive reorganized their work to open one lane of traffic to offer motorists another option to cross the Mississippi River after Sunday’s storm damage closed the westbound Washington Street bridge lanes. Motorists were able to cross the river by using the West College Drive bridge. Now that repairs were made to the washout by the Washington Street bridge on Highway 210, crews are once again closing College Road to traffic to complete their work.
Posted detour routes for College Road through traffic will be in place.
Cypress Drive will remain closed to through traffic between Industrial Park Road and Hastings Road. Local property access along College Road and Cypress Drive will be maintained during construction.
College Road is planned to permanently re-open to through traffic by Aug. 2, weather dependent.
