MCGRATH-A 74-year-old Shafer man was transported to the hospital following a Saturday crash on Highway 27 in Aitkin County.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported the crash occurred at 12:53 p.m. Saturday, north of McGrath in Pliny Township. A vehicle driven by Bernard Thomas Waddick of Shafer was traveling south when it left the road and struck a tree.
Waddick was transported to Riverwood Healthcare Center in Aitkin as a precaution, although suffered no apparent injury.
Road conditions were reportedly dry at the time of the crash, and Waddick wore a seat belt.
