Coming this weekend: Counting rings

Chad Birkholtz (left) and Ted Sullivan with Northland Tree and Landscaping of Pillager count the age rings on the 51-inch stump of a white pine Thursday. The company is donating its time to remove the tree, which fell last July at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Campground in Crosslake, so the wood can find new purpose at the campground.
