LITTLE FALLS - The Initiative Foundation, Little Falls, announced it has awarded 50 grants totaling more than $229,000 during the fourth quarter of 2014.
The grants support organizations and projects in the 14-county region of central Minnesota.
The following area organizations were awarded funding during October, November and December 2014.
• Rose Country Dental, Inc. - Pillager early childhood dental project: $4,000 to provide preventative dental education, resources and dental supplies for Early Childhood providers and families with children ages 0-5.
• Boys & Girls Club of the Leech Lake Area - Outreach and recruitment of new donors: $5,000 to support the development of a strategic plan to cultivate new donors, host receptions and otherwise explore and develop the base of local support for this critical program which provides after-school programming for children and young adults in the Cass Lake community.

• Bridges of Hope - Improving human services in the Brainerd lakes area: $5,000 to enhance client services in Crow Wing County and surrounding communities by assessing current organizational procedures and designing new, complementary electronic processes targeting efficiency.
• Center for Nonprofit Excellence & Social Innovation (CNESI) - CNESI Innovation Summit: $1,500 sponsorship for CNESI's annual Innovation Summit.
• SPROUT MN - Local foods projects in the Brainerd area: $1,500 to identify best practices in planning and zoning regulations to support local food systems in rural communities.
Turn Key Component Fund Awards
The Initiative Foundation hosts a variety of Turn Key component funds for families, businesses, nonprofit organizations and volunteer-led groups. The following area organizations were among those awarded Turn Key funding during October, November and December 2014. Follow the link for more.
• Staples Motley School District - Staples Motley Reality Store: $1,000.
• Farmers' Legal Action Group Inc. - Legal Assistance for Central Minnesota Family Farms: $5,000.
• University of Minnesota Foundation - Veterinary medicine scholarship: $2,000.
