PILLAGER-The Cass County Sheriff's Office will host a Community Outreach Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Sylvan Township Building in Pillager.
The public is welcome to attend and visit with Sheriff Tom Burch and members of the sheriff's office staff.
Outreach days provide a good opportunity to learn about initiatives within the sheriff's office. Applications also will be available for a permit to carry a firearm, purchase a firearm and for alarm and event permits. The county's portable "Take It To The Box" prescription drug disposal box will be on site to dispose of old, unneeded prescriptions.
Staff also can assist the public in signing up for the county's instant emergency notification program "Nixle."
Staff also would like to talk to residents on how to improve public safety in the neighborhoods.
