The Minnesota Department of Transportation warned of delays on Highway 210 near Aitkin starting next week for construction.
Motorists traveling on Highway 169/210 northeast of Aitkin will encounter a work zone, construction crews and potential delays as a project to replace the Highway 169/210 bridge over the Sissabagamah Creek begins the week of July 10, MnDOT said in a news release.
The intermittent lane and shoulder closures are needed while crews construct temporary bypass lanes to carry traffic after the existing Highway 169/210 lanes are closed to replace the bridge. More information will be released once the temporary bypass lanes are built.
The Highway 169/210 bridge is located about three miles northeast of Aitkin. When complete in late-September, the $1.2 million project will replace the existing bridge with a double box culvert bridge that will accommodate a roadway with wider shoulders, improved overall drainage and an upgraded safety guardrail system, the release said.
