The Crow Wing County Highway Department entered into a contract with Anderson Brothers Construction for centerline culvert installations and bituminous surfacing on County Highway 23 from the South County Line to Highway 18.

Centerline culvert installation is scheduled to begin Monday starting at the south end of Highway 23 and proceeding north, according to a news release from the county.

Culvert replacement operations are expected to take seven days to complete. There are four centerline culverts to replace south of Highway 2, four culverts to replace between Highway 2 and Highway 26, and two culverts to replace between Highway 2 and Highway 18. The culverts at 30th Street and Leisure Lane intersections with Highway 23 will also be replaced. If possible, the contractor will attempt to keep a lane of traffic open during culvert replacements operations, however it is best to plan alternate routes to avoid long delays. Paving operations are scheduled to begin the week of Aug. 1 and be completed the week of Aug. 14. Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and a pilot car as needed. Expect delays and use caution while traveling through the construction zone. All construction operations are expected to be completed by the end of August.
