Construction to limit lanes on Highland Scenic overnight

A lane of Highland Scenic Drive, also known as Crow Wing County Highway 48, will close about 6 p.m. today, June 9, and is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 10.

A lane of Highland Scenic Drive, also known as Crow Wing County Highway 48, will close about 6 p.m. today, June 9, and is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 10.

The contractor, RL Larson, for the Isle Drive Project informed the city of the lane closure on Highland Scenic, west of Highway 371 and just east of Mapleton Road, or County Road 170. The lane closure will facilitate the installation of a culvert on Highland Scenic to drain the ponding area on the north side. While the contractor expects to provide flag persons for the lane closure and maintain one lane of traffic, the work may require closure if it does not go as planned.

The purpose of this notice is to let you know of this work and to provide advance notice to emergency services to be aware of possible slow traffic or even a closed roadway tonight if construction operations do not go as planned. A gravel surface will remain at this location.

Contact Ron Bray at 612-360-1280 or Chuck Rickart at 612-360-1283 of WSB & Associates, or Jeff Wipper of RL Larson at 320-980-2523 for more information. The city of Baxter appreciate your patience during this construction process.
