Construction on College Drive from Quince Street to County Highway 48 and on South Fourth/Willow Street from College Drive to South Sixth Street will begin Monday, July 15 in Brainerd.
The roadways identified will be closed during this time.
The closure will begin at 6 a.m. on Monday and will go into the late evening hours of July 22. This closure will facilitate the mill and overlay of both streets. Minor construction work along the shoulders of each route is taking place the week of July 8. The city of Brainerd asked drivers to give extra space to construction equipment located along the roadway during this time.
Motorists will be rerouted around the construction zone via County Highway 48, Laurel Street and South Sixth Street/Business Highway 371.
The road will be open to local traffic, specifically those living on Mississippi Parkway and Brian Lane, or those with no other access but the use of College Drive or South Fourth/Willow streets. Those who live on or near the corridor were advised to use alternate routes for the week of construction activity. Access to Kiwanis Park can be made using East River Road. Flaggers will be present at all road closure barricades to assist local traffic in navigating the construction zone.
