Under Cass County’s proposed private sewer ordinance update, not all privies will be required to use a sealed vault. A portion of the proposed ordinance was incorrectly described in Wednesday’s newspaper. A seepage pit instead of sealed vault will be allowed under a privy in instances where the pit bottom is a least 3 feet above the groundwater table.
In a Wednesday Page 4A story regarding Crow Wing County’s printing bid, the story said use of a larger font size resulted in a higher cost per column inch. The story should have said the higher cost resulted because the size was bigger not because of the per column inch rate.
