County board candidate forum set for July 30

A Crow Wing County Board candidate forum will be 8-9 a.m. Thursday, July 30.

Hosted by the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce and the Brainerd Lakes Area League of Women Voters, the forum will feature District 5 commissioner candidates Doug Houge, Tom Nixon and Michael Starry.

The forum will take place in the Mayberry Auditorium at Crosby-Ironton High School, 711 Poplar St., Crosby. Masks are required for those who attend in person. The event is free and open to the public. The forum will also be available via Zoom. Visit to attend.

Complimentary coffee and doughnuts will be provided by Mixed Company-A Kava House and SuperOne of Crosby.

Houge, Nixon and Starry face one another in the upcoming primary election Aug. 11. Houge is the incumbent, while Nixon and Starry are challengers.
