For those getting older, Crow Wing County and others want to hear from them.

Crow Wing County Community Services long-term care team will host a "community conversation" to hear ideas and concerns, so all older adults and their families are supported and communities can thrive.

The number of Minnesotans turning 65 in this decade will be greater than the past four decades combined. This will create an increase in need for long-term care as Minnesota's population ages.

Current services and support systems will be challenged to help them age and stay in their homes. The Minnesota Board of Aging, in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Human Services, is seeking input to plan for and continue to meet the needs of this growing population.

The event is 10-11 a.m. Oct. 2 at the Land Services Building, 322 Laurel St., Brainerd.
