RAMSEY, Minn. -- The Anoka County sheriff’s office says the deaths of two people found in a Ramsey home Friday night is being investigated as a murder-suicide.
Bryce William Monson, 41, is believed to have killed his wife, Courtney Marie Monson, 30, during a “violent confrontation” at their home, according the sheriff’s office.
Police responded to a report of a shooting at the home shortly before 11 p.m. Both of the Monsons were found dead at the scene.
“Witness statements and evidence leads us to conclude that there was a violent confrontation taking place in the home with the husband as the aggressor,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement Monday.
There were four children - ages 2, 3, 9 and 12 - present at the time of the shooting. Courtney Monson took refuge with three of the children in the home’s basement when Bryce Monson shot her multiple times with a semiautomatic handgun, according to the sheriff’s office. He then shot himself.
