Crash at Brainerd intersection sends 1 driver to hospital

Brainerd police respond to personal injury crash at an intersection in north Brainerd.

A Brainerd woman was taken to a hospital Tuesday, June 8, after a crash at the intersection of North Fifth Street and Juniper Street in Brainerd.

The Brainerd Police Department was called at 6:11 p.m. to the crash where Renee L. Howard, 56, Brainerd, was traveling south on North Fifth Street while Kristie D. Woosley, 46, Brainerd, was traveling east on Juniper Street. When the two drivers reached the intersection, Woosley’s vehicle hit Howard’s vehicle on the passenger side, police reported.

Woosley was transported by North Memorial Health ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries. Howard was not transported to a hospital.

The Brainerd Fire Department was called to assist police officers, but fire crews were cleared from the scene upon arrival as no assistance was needed.
