Crash at Brainerd intersection sends 1 to hospital

A 77-year-old Brainerd man was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:16 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at the intersection of South Sixth and Willow streets in Brainerd.

The Brainerd Police Department reported a vehicle driven by Michael Porter, 54, Brainerd, was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection. When he proceeded onto South Sixth Street, he was T-boned by a vehicle driven by Bernard Witte, 77, Brainerd.

Porter, who was not injured, told police he did not see the vehicle prior to the crash. Witte was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd to be treated for injuries.
