Crash at intersections sends Nisswa woman to hospital

The Minnesota State Patrol reported the road conditions were wet at the time of the crash.

NISSWA — An 83-year-old Nisswa woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday, March 22, at the intersection of Highway 371 and Crow Wing County Highway 77 in Nisswa.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash at 6:14 a.m. where a Toyota Tacoma was traveling south on Highway 371 and a Ford Expedition was traveling north on Highway 371. The driver of the Ford was attempting to turn into the westbound lane of County Highway 77 when it collided with the Toyota in the intersection.

The state patrol reported the road conditions were wet.

Patricia A. Swenson, driver of the Ford, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. The driver of the Toyota, Andrew E. Behr, 46, Pequot Lakes, was not injured.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and the Nisswa Police Department assisted the state patrol at the scene.
