Crash into steel-beam billboard injures driver

A Coon Rapids man suffered non-life-threatening injuries Friday, June 25, after his Lexus GS careened off-road and struck a steel-beam billboard.

According to reports by the Minnesota State Patrol, Blake Andrew Johnson, 22, of Coon Rapids, was operating a 1999 Lexus GS traveling northbound on Highway 169 in Onamia Township, Mille Lacs County, when the Lexus left the road at 2:04 p.m, Friday, and struck the billboard. Conditions at the time are described as dry.

Johnson was transported by first responders to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Assisting the state patrol at the scene was the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office.
