Crash leaves man with life-threatening injuries

A McGregor man suffered life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash in McGregor Township just before 7 a.m. Friday, July 5.

The Minnesota State Patrol announced Donald A. Fena, 75, of McGregor was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. The driver of the other vehicle was also injured. Fena was traveling southbound on Highway 65 and turning left onto Goshawk Street in his 2010 Chevrolet Camaro when he was struck broadside. The driver of the other vehicle, Orville Lester Baker, 71, of White Bear Lake was traveling north in a 2002 Ford Super Duty pickup.

Baker was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. Road conditions were described as dry. Both men were wearing seat belts.
