OUTING-A 73-year-old Emily man was taken to the hospital Monday after crashing the Chevrolet Equinox he was driving on Highway 6 near Eastburn Road in Crooked Lake Township in Cass County, near Outing.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported Harold Edmund Cook was traveling south on Highway 6, when he he lost control of the Equinox and crossed over the northbound lanes. The vehicle then stopped, Cook exited the vehicle and then got back in. Cook then accelerated and hit an approach and landed in the north ditch, the state patrol reported.
Cook was transported to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby for non-life-threatening injuries.
The state patrol detected alcohol in Cook's system. He also was not wearing his seat belt.
The crash was reported at 8:28 p.m.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota DNR assisted the state patrol at the scene.
