A 34-year-old Crosby man faces 10 felony charges for possessing pornographic images involving minors.

Aaron Cecil Enlund is set to make his first appearance on the charges March 18 in Crow Wing County District Court.

The Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a division of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, received a tip Jan. 7 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip indicated the website Tumblr reported 10 image/video files uploaded by a user account. Tumblr is a website allowing users to post multimedia and other content to a blog. Users can follow other users’ blogs.

Tumblr provided identifying information about the user. Tumblr also provided IP addresses for specific dates and times in which the user logged into the blog. A BCA agent viewed all 10 reported files and determined them to be child pornography.

A subpoena was sent to Charter Communications in an attempt to identify the user/subscriber using the IP addresses. Charter Communications returned results indicating the IP addresses were associated with the same account belonging to Enlund at a Crosby address.

The task force drafted a search warrant for Enlund and his address. The request was reviewed by Judge Kristine DeMay and signed.

The search warrant was executed Feb. 19 on Enlund’s residence and on his person. BCA agents and deputies with the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Enlund at the residence, informing him of the search warrant, and searched Enlund’s person.

BCA agents interviewed Enlund, according to the criminal complaint, and specifically asked him to describe the material he accessed and downloaded on the internet. Enlund told the agents he viewed material involving males that appeared to be minors, the complaint stated.

The task force examined electronic items seized from the home, including Enlund’s Samsung Galaxy S7, using technology allowing data extraction. Officials estimated the device contained in excess of 100 images of child pornography.
