EAST GULL LAKE-Two people were arrested following a burglary reported at 5:11 a.m. Friday, May 17, at a residence on Green Gables Road in East Gull Lake.

Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reported deputies arrived and found a seasonal residence had been broken into. Information from a neighbor, who observed a vehicle leaving the area, was investigated and forwarded to the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office. A short time later the vehicle was located and stopped in Crow Wing County. A 22-year-old Little Falls man and a 20-year-old Little Falls man were arrested with criminal charges pending.

In a separate incident reported at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, the Cass County Sheriff's Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle at a seasonal residence in Thunder Lake Township in rural Outing. Deputies arrived in the area and found a gate at the residence had been tampered with and a burglary investigation was initiated. Deputies began searching the area for the suspect vehicle and quickly located it near Outing.

It was learned the vehicle was stolen from the Brainerd area. The vehicle was stopped and several items were observed in and on the vehicle consistent with property missing from the burglary investigation, the sheriff's office reported. A 28-year-old Brainerd man and a 23-year-old Baxter man were arrested with criminal charges pending with this incident.

Burch reported in both investigations the sheriff's office received important information from residents who reported suspicious activity and who noted vehicle description and license plate information, which was helpful in the investigations. Burch reminded residents to report suspicious activity and to be observant of anything that may seem out of place.
