PIERZ — A 38-year-old Hillman man was arrested Sunday, July 26, following an assault involving a knife at Frosty’s Bar in Pierz.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was called to the assault at 1:53 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies learned three people were assaulted with a knife, the Pierz Police Department reported in a news release. A 21-year-old Hillman man was transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls with unknown injuries. The other two victims, a 42-year-old Pierz man and a 23-year-old Hillman man went to the hospital in their own vehicle.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Morrison County Jail, where he is being held pending formal assault charges.

Assisting the Pierz Police Department and the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office were the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Little Falls Police Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.

Pierz Police Chief Eric Hanneken and Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen stated the assault is an isolated event and the community is not at risk.

This incident is still under investigation.
