According to court documents filed against Britton, the Mid-Minnesota Women’s Center contacted authorities stating Britton assaulted a woman Feb. 18 at a residence on Crow Wing County Highway 25.

The woman told authorities she and Britton, who are known to each other, were at a friend’s residence when the assault happened. Britton threw his shoes at her and hit her in the leg. He then started hitting her with a closed fist in her face, abdomen and chest and broke her right pinky finger. Britton only stopped hitting her when he saw headlights coming down the driveway. He then left the residence.
