LITTLE FALLS — The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an assault Monday, July 26, that allegedly occurred during a burglary.

The sheriff’s office was called at 12:02 a.m. to a burglary in progress where the victim was assaulted at a residence off Gordon Circle, 2 miles south of Little Falls. Deputies met with the victim, who left the residence after the apparent assault. Deputies learned the suspect was possibly still in the residence and had access to firearms.

The Morrison County SWAT Team was deployed to the residence and was able to gain entry. No one was in the residence and the victim was not able to give a good description of the suspect, the sheriff’s office reported. Two handguns were later reported stolen from the residence, a Glock model 43 with a red dot sight and a Beretta 9mm.

Investigators are still actively investigating this case. Anyone who has information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 320-632-9233.

The Little Falls and Pierz police departments and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
