BISMARCK — A threat of numerous pipe bombs prompted the evacuation of a Walmart on the north side of Bismarck, North Dakota, at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, city police said.

A person claimed to have planted the pipe bombs in the parking lot and store, according to the Bismarck Police Department. Streets in the area were temporarily blocked off.

Officers spoke to the person who was using a fake phone number and fake Internet Protocol address.

"Through investigation, the conversation with the suspect, and intelligence from the FBI, BPD bomb squad found the call to be a hoax," police said in a statement. "The store was opened and business was resumed after a minimal period of time."
