Crookston motorcyclist pleads guilty to homicide charge in wife’s death in crash

CROOKSTON - A Crookston man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Polk County District Court to criminal vehicular homicide in connection with a motorcycle crash that killed his wife in September.

CROOKSTON - A Crookston man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Polk County District Court to criminal vehicular homicide in connection with a motorcycle crash that killed his wife in September.

Corey Lee Reitmeier, 44, operating a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife, Wendy Reitmeier, 43, as a passenger when the motorcycle struck a deer Sept. 26 on Polk County Road 57 near Gentilly.

Neither was wearing a helmet, and Reitmeier had a blood alcohol level at 0.18 near the time of the crash, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

Reitmeier is scheduled for sentencing July 21.
