The Crow Wing County Dairy Association is searching for dairy princess and dairy ambassador candidates for 2019.
Senior Dairy Princess candidates must be a senior in high school and not yet 24 years old. To be eligible, the young woman or her parents must be actively engaged in the production of milk for sale to a licensed plant and contribute to the dairy checkoff and she or her parents must work on a dairy farm that contributes to the checkoff.
Some new qualifications this year include if the young woman or her parents custom-raise dairy cattle for farmers who contribute to the checkoff or if she or her parents lease dairy animals from a dairy farmer who contributes to the checkoff.
Dairy ambassadors do not have to meet the above qualifications but must have a sincere desire to promote the dairy industry. The ages for dairy ambassadors and junior dairy princesses are 13 to a senior in high school, as of March 23.
Junior dairy princesses must meet the same qualifications as a senior dairy princess.
