Steven Koering of Fort Ripley was elected Crow Wing County Farmers Union chairman at the recent meeting.
John Borden retired after many years in that position. Charles Schultz, Fort Ripley, was re-elected as vice chairman, and Laureen Borden, Merrifield, retained her position of secretary/treasurer.
A discussion on new legislation affecting farmers was spearheaded by State Government Relations Chair Thom Peterson. Fieldman Wayne Buecher talked about state fair activities and distributed new signs to post if holding agritourism activities at your farm to limit liability. Tiffany Stenglein participated in the discussion representing Congressman Rick Nolan. D-Minn.
Charles Schultz was elected delegate to the state convention and Matthew Stone was elected alternate.
