Crow Wing County Highway 1, County Road 109 construction to begin

Construction work consists of culvert replacement, spot subgrade repair work, milling of old pavement, new bituminous surfacing and aggregate shouldering.

The Crow Wing County Highway Department has entered into a contract with Anderson Brothers Construction for bituminous reconditioning on County Highway 1 and County Road 109.

Construction work consists of culvert replacement, spot subgrade repair work, milling of old pavement, new bituminous surfacing and aggregate shouldering.

The work on County Highway 1 between Highway 6 in Emily to the Aitkin County line will begin Monday, April 26. Mainline milling and paving operations will begin the week of May 12 with paving completed prior to Memorial Day and all work completed in early June.

The work on County Road 109 will begin Tuesday. Centerline culvert replacement, subgrade repair and milling will take place April 27-30. Mainline paving operations will take place the week of May 3 with all construction work completed prior to Memorial Weekend.

During centerline culvert replacement operations, County Road 109 will be closed to through traffic from Mission Cut-off to County Highway 19. This work is expected to last two days.

Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and a pilot car as needed. Expect delays and use caution while traveling through the construction zone. Detour signs will be placed accordingly.
