Crow Wing County is hiring seasonal watercraft inspectors to inspect entering and exiting watercraft at public water accesses.

Inspectors will have frequent contact with boaters to educate them about aquatic invasive species.

Those who enjoy working outdoors and possess customer service skills should apply, a news release stated. Starting pay is $14 per hour. Work is primarily Friday through Sunday with possibly some weekday shifts. These positions work from the fishing opener in May until the season ends in October.

Those interested may apply online at governmentjobs.com/careers/crowwingmn or in person at the Land Services Building, 322 Laurel St., Suite 15, in Brainerd.

The countyโ€™s 2020 AIS prevention plan includes funding for 17,040 hours of watercraft inspections at 42 boat landings throughout the county this summer. Watercraft inspections were identified by lake associations and stakeholders as a top priority for AIS funding.
