Crow Wing County is accepting public comments on an environmental assessment worksheet prepared for a proposed golf course expansion and residential development at Cragun's Resort on Gull Lake.
The proposed project will consist of the construction of an 18-hole golf course, 31 clustered residential units and eight single-family units on approximately 400 acres of land. The project is located primarily in Section 27 of the First Assessment District, with a small part of the project within the city of East Gull Lake.
An environmental assessment worksheet, or EAW, is a document designed to set out the basic facts necessary to determine whether an environmental impact statement is required for a proposed action. The purpose of the EAW process is to disclose information about potential environmental impacts of a project. The worksheet contains 20 questions focusing on the project's environmental setting, the potential for environmental harm and plans to reduce the harm.
Public comments on the EAW should be submitted in writing to the Crow Wing County Land Services Department, 322 Laurel St., Suite 15, Brainerd, MN, 56401. Email comments to land.services@crowwing.us . Comments must be submitted by 5 p.m. July 5.
