The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the assault of a 38-year-old Brainerd woman that occurred Tuesday, March 31.
The Crow Wing County dispatch center received a 911 call about noon from a woman asking for help. However, she hung up the phone before any further details could be obtained.
About two hours later, the woman reported that while at a residence in the area of Brandon Way in Barrows, she was hit with a baseball bat and threatened with a gun by people known to her. A gun was fired in the direction of her car, the sheriff’s office reported.
According to a news release, Sheriff Scott Goddard believes this was an incident between people associated with each other and since the firearm was located and seized, he does not believe there is a concern for the safety of the public in this matter.
